Hi, I'm Adam Wilson. This is my second semester of ceramics at Mount Si High School. I like doing ceramics because I can look back on my projects that I made throughout the semester and see how my skill has developed as the semester went along. Each piece I make also has a bit of a memory attached to it.
I mixed glazes. some combinations I tried were black and green, green and dark green, and blue and black. of these mixtures the best one was the satin black and chrome green combination. the blue and black combination did nothing special, and the green and dark green failed entirely, created a messy looking mixture. I also sprayed one bowl with random glazes to see how several glazes would interact with each other.
I chose this theme because I like finding out my own personal favorite mixtures and having "secret recipes".  The only "personal mixture" I managed to discover this semester was the mixture between black and green. I found this mixture by accident, but i liked it so much that i had to use it on something again.
I would mix glazes by layering them over each other or placing them side by side. some glazes would blend when i did then and some would be completely blocked out by whatever is on top, for example with the blue and the black glazes, blue blocked out black completely when layered over it.
I am going to continue doing ceramics next semester so i can continue to see my skills develop over time, and i also love having a period of the day devoted to the arts . Thanks for reading!

Introduction paragraph: I chose my theme to be mixing glazes because i like expirimenting with things and seeing the outcome. after a few different mixtures i found only on that I really liked, the satin black laid over chrome green glaze. this glaze provided a smooth transition with a very dark green color.

What: Mixing glaze colors to see how mixtures turn out.
Why: I like experimenting with things to find out "secret recipes"
How: I would Overlap or place glazes adjacent to each other

The theme I chose to do this semester was mixing glazes because I like it when i can make a mixture of my own and see the results. some of these results were pretty cool and some of them not so much. my favorite of the mixtures was the mix between black satin glaze and chrome green glaze. this glaze provided a dark green area of a project and it would transition between the colors gracefully.
